Will eBay Finally Wise Up?

“eBay today announced that their net earnings fell 31% last quarter. You’d think in this economy, shoppers would be drawn to the potentially lower prices of eBay—after all, Amazon apparently did just fine. Are the headaches of dealing with eBay/PayPal outweighing the potential savings?”

– Consumerist Dot Com

In a word, yes.  I just listed a few items on eBay after a long hiatus, but the changes to their policies a few months back were ridiculous.  Here’s hoping they see the error of their ways.

I wish that I could receive my payments through PayPal. I have no bank account right now (long story) but do have a PayPal account and debit card. It is beyond irritating that I can’t get the money for the things I sell deposited to my PayPal. That is my biggest complaint there, honestly.

They are SO ridiculous. I sold this Louis Vuitton bag I bought over 6 years ago and they HELD my money until the person left positive feedback which is apparently what they do now when they sell higher end products. Thing is, they never tell you that before!

Seriously? I had NO clue. That is just absurd. They have totally alienated sellers, I wish they would get with the program. The downside is, there’s no other decent and wide-reaching choice for selling stuff.

I know, I also posted an old Gucci bag that same day and no one bought it and they won’t let me repost it for a month! AND you can’t do 3 day auctions on luxury items either, must be 5, 7, or 10 day which I can’t stand. Grrr.
